Who is more susceptible to getting scoliosis?

Scoliosis knows no gender, race or age. For a baby, birthing difficulties can be a factor in acquiring scoliosis. From the birth process on, the amount and type of impacts play a part into who gets scoliosis. Although some cases congenital bone malformation causes scoliosis, this is not very common. Most cases scoliosis is acquired when spinal bones move forward due to strain, injuries or accidents, and the body has no muscles to pull the spinal bones straight back. Sometimes this is referred to as “idiopathic”. Idiopathic is just a fancy way to say “we have no idea”.
