Tuxedo and the New York Renaissance Faire
Tuxedo is a town along the Ramapo River in Orange County, New York that offers small-town charm and great views of the Ramapo Mountains.

It is famous for hosting the New York Renaissance Faire, an annual, family-friendly event has been taking place in the Sterling Forest each summer since 1977. There are themed weekends, including time travelers, pirates, and heroes and villains, with many local families attending the event year after year. Costumes are encourage, with archery, jousting, glass blowing, musical acts, comedy skits, puppet shows, sword fights, story time sessions, plays, feats of acrobats and live performances staged throughout the event. There are also adult-themed acts along with games, rides, face painting and food vendors, including giant turkey legs. Mead is available for adults.
Other outdoor activities are available at Sterling Forest Lake, Sterling Forest and the Doris Duke Trailhead. Surrounding towns offer additional parks, nature preserves and outdoor areas. Popular outdoor activities for families to explore include hiking, biking, nature walks, bird watching, boating, swimming, kayaking, playgrounds, picnics, winter sports and camping.
Locals can ski just a few miles away at the Mount Peter Ski Resort.
