  • Millbrook. Located in Dutchess County this small village is known for its spacious farms and family-friendly atmosphere.
  • New Paltz. Spend the day outdoors biking, hiking and exploring the history of this cute little town.
  • Poughkeepsie. Beaming with fun for the whole family, gather up the kids and head to any of these incredible places to spend a day.
  • Kingston. Pack up the family and spend the day in a town filled with perfect Hudson River views, food, animals and lots more.
  • Livingston Manor. Quirky, rustic and artistic.. and the birthplace of fly-fishing is what you'll find in this unique little town.
  • Beacon. Dubbed as the new Williamsburg, this Hudson Valley town is the place to be! Here you'll find good eats, river views, disc golf and even a castle to explore!
  • Fallsburgh. Sullivan County is known for its breathtaking scenic views and this little town is no exception.
  • Montgomery. Known as the "transportation hub of the northeast, this little town has some of the best parks and food!
  • Phoenicia. Known to most as the "heart of the Catskills High Peaks" this little town in Ulster County can't be missed. Here you can hop on a whitewater rafting tube, take a ride on an old train and indulge in a sweet breakfast staple.
  • Warwick. The home of the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival, this awesome Orange County town has the only multiple-screen drive-in in the area, delicious food and an quirky sculpture garden to explore.

  • 9 Local Dog Parks. Kids aren't the only family members who need to play this summer! Take your fur-baby to one of the great local dog parks.
  • 11 Hudson Valley Zoos. From educational farms to animal sanctuaries your kids will love to see and pet some of the cutest animals in the area.
  • 19 Berry Picking Hot Spots. Each county is filled with farm markets and farms that offer pick-your-own produce options throughout the summer. Bookmark your list and check back for fall veggies too!

Best Local Playgrounds, Parks and Splash Pads
  • Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls. Wonderful handicapped accessible playground, hiking trails, nature center and a wonderful plash pad to keep cool this summer are just some of the perks of visiting this beautiful park.
  • Wee Play Tot Park, Beacon. Aimed at children ages 0-6, this great playground filled with toys, ride-ons and toddler-sized structures sits inside the fabulous Memorial Park.
  • Hasbrouck Park, New Paltz. A large wooden, castle style structure is the main attraction at this park worth visiting this summer.
  • Grasshopper Grove, Cornwall. As part of the amazing Hudson Highlands Nature Center, this half-acre place space utilized natural elements to invite children to use their imagination and creativity as they play.
  • Thomas Bull Memorial Park, Montgomery. Home to Sally's Dream Playground, a beautiful handicapped accessible structure has plenty of ramps, swings, bridges and toys where children of all abilities can play together.
  • Julies Jungle, East Fishkill. New and still growing, this is the only fully accessible public playground in Dutchess County. Children of all abilities are invited to participate in outdoor activities they are usually excluded from.

  • 30 Indoor Play Spots. For a rainy day adventures or a place to escape the summer heat, there are lots of indoor play places great for little ones (and big ones too) to get out that pent up energy!
