Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt Historic Site, Hyde Park
Close by to Val-Kill is this local favorite. Families enjoy the beautiful views with picnics on the lawn and along the river. The FDR home is also home to the first US Presidential Library.
Eleanor Roosevelt Historic Site, Hyde Park
The only national historic site dedicated to a first lady, Val-Kill welcomes visitors to come be a park of the entire Roosevelt experience.
Vanderbilt Mansion, Hyde Park
Take a glimpse into life of an English country house with a tour or take a stroll across the 211 acres of park land filled with old trees, stunning river views and Italian Gardens.
Hudson River Valley Heritage Area
Stretching from NYC to Albany this area exhibits the valley's history and the role of commerce to the region. Revolutionary War stories, famous homes, scenic parks and gardens and a wealth of resources will be found here.
Thomas Cole Historic Site, Catskill
At the Thomas Cole Site join a guided tour of Cole's home and studio, see a film about his art or take a stroll through the flower gardens and take in the majestic views of the mountains.
Saint Paul's Church Historic Site, Mount Vernon
An icon of colonial life which was destroyed during the American Revolution was later rebuilt in 1942 to resemble its origional 18th century appearance. Today you can take a journey back in time with the many stories of how the site and surrounding area has changed over time.
Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island
An icon of our area but a bit of a drive from most of the Hudson Valley. You can easily spend a day of adventuring into Manhattan and over to Ellis Island. On Liberty Island, as it's often called you can visit the statue's pedestal, museum, go on a guided or self-guided tour and visit the National Museum of Immigration.
Thomas Edison Historic Park, West Orange, NJ
Explore the laboratories and libraries of this 20,000 square foot exhibit space. You could also spend an afternoon exploring Glenmont, the estate of Thomas and Mina Edison. You must stop at the visitor center for tour tickets.
