Where do you get your cider donut fix?
Let’s face it- your mouth waters at the thought of biting into a sugary, cinnamon-y slice of goodness that can be found at most farm stands and orchards throughout the fall. It’s cider donut season and I am ready for it!
While we do have quite a few of the best orchards in the Hudson Valley right here in our backyards finding the most delicious cider donuts is no small feat.
That’s’s why we asked the experts (that’s YOU!) for help so when apple picking, pumpkin picking and fall fun come around we will all be ready for the deliciousness that is cider donuts. 1. Dubois Farms, Highland
There is a baker with delicious desserts, including homemade apple cider donuts, served warm, and assorted handmade pies. Pick your own apples, pumpkins and some veggies here also. Open 10am-5pm every day through Thanksgiving. 845-795-4037
2. Fishkill Farms, Fishkill
They make donuts and pies fresh year-round. Donuts are only available in the farm store and are not on the pre-order menu. Open Tue.-Sun. 9am-6pm. They will be open on Mon., Oct. 13th. 845-897-4377

3. Hurds Family Farm, Modena
Families can enjoy apple and pumpkin picking, obstacle course, jumping pillow, giant slide and a cornfield maze. Feed farm pets and play in the kids’ corral! Café with apple cider donuts, hot cider, and cider slushies. Apple picking starts Aug. 30. Open Fri.-Mon. through October 26. 845-883-7825

6. Meadowbrook Farm Market, Wappingers Falls
Pick your own apples and pumpkins. Visit the farm animals and stock up on other seasonal produce and baked goods at the market. Melt-in-your-mouth cider donuts made fresh daily.
