How do I know if my child has an ear infection?
Maria E. Bernardez, MD of Orange Pediatric Care
When a child less than a year old is cranky or clingy, and doesn't want to eat, parents worry about an ear infection, but it turns out to be just teething. Most babies with ear infection have fever, and other associated symptoms like coughing or nasal congestion. Babies who are teething drool a lot. But the most definite way of knowing is having your pediatrician look at your baby's ear.
