If you want to recognize your child's teacher for Teacher Appreciation Week this year you might be trying too hard to come up with the perfect personalized idea. We asked around to Hudson Valley teachers and parents to find out what they really wanted or what the best gift they ever gave/ received were and the response was virtually unanimous: Gift Cards!
Whether you are on a tight budget or want something a bit more personalized than gift cards, we have compiled a list of the most popular responses for you. Here's what we heard:
- A cute mug (bonus: put a Gift Card to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks in it)
- A handmade plaque or decoration for the classroom
If gift cards are a bit too impersonal, teachers said they appreciate a heartfelt note and/or a drawing from your child.
Many teachers and parents also piped up to remind us not to forget about high school teachers, reading teachers and special (art, music, PE, etc.) teachers this week too!
