Try these neat options while isolating at home

In our travels we meet awesome local business owners all the time. During this time of social distancing and even when it’s all over, there are a few businesses that offer some awesome products or distance learning options.

 

Ridge Runner Ranch, New Paltz

Brittany Mercier is awesome. When not social distancing, Abby loves taking Brittany's group riding lessons. However, Brittany wanted to do something where children could still learn about the horse world even if they can’t visit the farm, so she created an online learning program. It’s super-affordable and stuffed full of resources from A to Z. We completed the first activity, a word search. For my four year old, I had to read along and help her by spelling out each letter out and making each word. The puzzles were difficult and there were many pieces. Love Play Create Shop, Poughkeepsie

Some of us just can’t make play dough from scratch. It turns out like play mush. But regular Playdoh is not earth friendly and the company that makes it is not a local operation. In looking for an alternative, we found Love Play Create Shop and they are amazing. Their play dough kits are earth-friendly right down to the packaging. We tried the Fairy kit and had a blast. Bespoke Commodities in Brewster

Bespoke Commodities has some really cool products, however, their craft products are what interested us. We received some of the craft kit items, including the reusable bag which is personalized with bubble letters. You have to provide the fabric marker. We also have a headband kit. Hot glue is required so this is a job for the grownups. Not little fingers.
