These interactive exhibits are a great way to get your children (and whole family really) learning and having fun together. Learn about the history on the Dutch contribution to fire safety and fire fighting, complete with a miniature thatched-roof Dutch house and a well filled with balls. Learn what fun names fire companies called their trucks during the 1800's and what fire apparatus and gear came first.
Creative play is still one of the most popular activities at FASNY. Children love putting on the gear and getting into character. Take a slide down the fire pole, drive the truck, grab the water cannon, climb the ladder and save the victims. But it isn't all fun and games. Teach children the importance of "Stop, Drop and Roll" as well as many other safety and prevention procedures in the special Cabot/McCadam Discovery Room & Art Squad.
Museum hours are 10-4:30 daily. Gift shop is open until 5pm. Admission is $10 adults, $5 children and FREE under the age of 3.
