Looking for fun ways to fill your long summer days? Already hearing "I'm Bored!"? Don't miss our 'Summer Fun Days'!

***Important*** we are hearing from readers that these boats are not available this summer. We will try and find out on Monday what is going on. I apologize for the confusion.
With a number of lakes and two rivers that flow through Orange County, there is certainly no shortage of water fun for families on a hot summer day. In Greenwood Lake you can rent a paddleboard, kayak, canoe or even a small boat to play around in. Bear Mountain has rowboat and paddleboat rentals available or you can take a guided kayak tour along the Hudson River in Cornwall-on Hudson. If you prefer to play in the water rather than boating on it, try one of our favorite Hudson Valley Swimming Holes and Beaches!
A real family favorite though is waiting for you at Round Lake’s Alex Smith Pavilion in Monroe where you will find rowboats, pedal boats, kayaks, Ducks and Swans. Pedal the kids across Round Lake in a giant Swan Boat or a yellow Ducky and you can be sure your children will remember it for years to come. Stumped for keeping kids busy this summer? We have 10 things every child should try this summer, here. This beautiful spot lends itself as one of the best water playgrounds in Orange County.
Look for turtles, fish, birds and plant life throughout the lake and shoreline as you enjoy a leisurely ride around the peaceful waters. From July 3- September 7th, boat rentals are available 7 days a week from 10am-7:30pm. Don’t forget to bring your picnic!
