If your family loves history, the Hudson Valley has more than enough Historical Sites, museums and hot spots to keep you busy the rest of this summer. A day at West Point can be an exciting adventure for the whole family. The West Point museum houses what is considered to be the oldest and largest diversified public collection of militaria in the Western Hemisphere. "We are very appealing to familiess. We have something for all ages," says the museum's director, David Reel. He points out the surrounding Hudson River communities offer plenty to see and do as well.

The Visitors Center is also a great starting point on your trip to West Point. Here videos on cadet life and West Point history are shown throughout the day. Exhibits including a full- scale cadet barracks room, uniform room, daily life ad the admissions process is also on display.
From the Visitors Center you can take a tour through the grounds or visit the
West Point Museum whose mission is to 'collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret historically significant artifacts pertaining to the United States Military Academy, United States Army and the Professions of Arms.' Museum is open daily 10:30am-4:15pm.
And lastly, if you plan your day at West Point accordingly end the night at one of the great shows or concerts at Eisenhower Hall Theater. Family friendly shows including Fame, The Nutcracker and Cirque Dreams- Jungle Fantasy are coming up this season.
