Established in 1965, Juckas Stables is a
friendly, family- owned and operated business. They have 117 acres of trails
winding through the breathtaking Hudson Valley countryside. While the gentle
and well- trained horses are the highlight of your trip to the stables,
a number of barnyard animals
also call Juckas Stables home and are sure to delight the children! You can
also find 11 local zoos great for kids on our top zoos list!
At Juckas Stables, no matter what your age or ability you can
learn to ride a horse, or rent a horse by the hour and explore the hundreds of
acres of trails. For a real adventure ask about renting a horse for an
overnight camping
trip!

Our area certainly has no shortage of horse farms scattered about.
From horse rescues and summer camps
to therapy riding and lessons; there are plenty of opportunities for your
children to experience riding. When I asked online a few favorites included:
Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue, Meadow Creek Farm, My Saddle Brook Farm and Greystone
Stables. You can find a great list of horseback riding farms in our Enrichment Guide.
While most of the programs above start children riding around
school age, if you are like me with a horse-loving toddler, check out Southlands
Foundation in Rhinebeck who offer a mommy and me horseback riding class!
Call and reserve a horse or stop by and visit Juckas Stables this
summer! www.juckasstables.com
