Standing Forward Bend

At one time in our lives, many of us wished to be taller. (I was a very tall child and wished to be petite.) Hopefully we come to the point where we like ourselves just the way we are.

Lengthening the spine, however, is always a good thing! This allows for better circulation in the intervertebral discs and decompression of the spine. We feel better, our posture improves, and our back muscles limber up.

Standing forward bend is an easy way to limber up and lengthen your spine. It also affords relief in the neck and just feels good! If you're just starting, keep your legs bent as much as you need. Let your head relax, breathe, and enjoy this great-feeling stretch.
