I try and think about what excited me when I was a kid, and vary the topics enough that we have a good variety every year. And we listen to what the kids tell us every summer. Our most recent camp topic, "Mad Machines & Crazy Contraptions" was the direct result of kids wanting to have more time to design and build their own "contraptions" - so we designed activities to allow this.
