Great places to take the kids to see Santa and social distance

You better watch out, you better not
 cry! You better not pout I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town! Even with the pandemic, you can still get the kids out to see Santa with our list of social distancing events.

So here's our list, we checked it twice, we hope you like these places, they sure are nice! Santa Claus is coming to town!

Malls and ongoing:

Nov. 26-Dec. 24. Santa is Coming to Town! Families and even pets are invited by the jolly and joyous gift-giver to whisper their Christmas to Santa Claus. Reservations are strongly encouraged for all guests, with walk-up visits available as space allows throughout the day.

Dec. 3-Dec. 24. Photos with Santa. Bring your kids for photos with Santa at the Newburgh Mall. 


Special Events with Santa:

Nov. 26-28, Dec. 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, 22-23. Catskill Christmas Express. The Catskill Christmas Express will take passengers on a trip through the Catskill Forest to Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole. Due to Covid-19, we will be using our open-air flat cars which will be festively lit and decorated – so bundle up and bring a blanket! Santa will greet each train as it goes by; Santa will not be getting on the train. Each passenger will receive an individually wrapped cookie from our local bakery. After passing the North Pole, everyone will receive a small gift!

Nov. 28. Holiday Kick-off with Santa. Santa will arrive at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park at the Ulster Welcome Center on Sunday. Bring your kids, your dogs—the whole family—for this fun photo opportunity with Santa. Anna, Elsa, and Olaf from Frozen will also be on hand for fun holiday photos. There will be a hot cocoa bar and a group of classic yuletide carolers. Photos taken with Santa and Frozen characters will be available for purchase, for a suggested donation of $10, or visitors may take their own photos.

Dec. 3. Snowflake Festival. The Kingston Business Association (KUBA) presents the annual Snowflake Festival to be held in uptown Kingston. Fun events for the whole family. Featuring main stage performances, fire twirlers, juggler, ice carving, stilt band, fiddlers, dancers, singers, Christmas tree lighting and a visit from Santa Claus. 6-8 pm.

Dec. 3-4, 9-10, 16-18. Dinner With Santa. Attending Peace, Love & Lights? Enjoy dinner in the Event Gallery before or after your drive! Drop-in anytime from 5pm – 8pm to enjoy dinner featuring full-service food stations in the festive and beautiful Event Gallery. Take a selfie with Santa to make your Peace, Love & Lights experience even more memorable!

Dec. 3-7. Santa is coming to the Hurleyville Arts Centre! Make your list and letters for Santa, he is ready to meet you at The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre! Parents and friends bring your own camera/phone/tablet and take your child’s photo with Santa. All are welcome and Free! No tickets needed. Friday 3-6pm; Saturday 10am-1pm; Sunday 1-4pm

Dec. 4-5, 11-12 & 18. Breakfast with Santa 2021. Breakfast with Santa is back! We're so excited to host you and Father Christmas for a classic Bear Mountain celebration. Seatings are available at 8 am and at 11 am on December 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, and 18th. Reservations are required and can only be made online at our OpenTable page. Happy holidays!

Dec. 4-5, 11-12. Christmas in the Village. FESTIVE FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! Join us for our very special expanded walk-through Christmas in the Village event, now with evening hours! Explore our festive and fun Christmas Village during the day or come later on for an illuminated evening experience! Stop into our Playhouse to see Mr. and Mrs. Claus and their elves!

Dec. 4. Brunch with Santa. Santa is coming to Simply Gourmet! Bundle up the kids and join us for a delicious brunch buffet. The kids can hang out with Santa and you can take as many pictures as you want! Call for reservations 845-214-0300. 

Dec. 4. Greene's Candy Cane Christmas Festival. Join us for the 1st Annual Greene’s Candy Cane Christmas Festival!  Come support small business vendors from all over Greene County and surrounding areas.  Grab a hot chocolate and shop for that perfect Christmas gift.  Craft and food vendors and children’s activities.  Santa Claus will be visiting from 2:30-5pm.  50/50 raffle.  All proceeds will go to adopting local families in need for this Christmas

Dec. 4. Photos At Santa's Workshop. Come join us at our Fishkill location, for an afternoon of family fun, full of holiday cheer and of course, photos with Santa! 

Dec. 4. Santa Landing by Helicopter in the Village of Monroe! Santa & Mrs. Claus will land by helicopter in Monroe to visit Rest Haven. Santa and Mrs. Claus will travel through downtown Monroe to Rest Haven. Children will listen to Christmas music in the foyer, Mrs. Claus will be helping the children to write letters to Santa in the dining room, and greet Santa Claus in the billiard room to take pictures with him. 

Dec. 4. Selfies with Santa. Bring your beloved pet for pictures with at A Healthier You Studio. A donation of at least $15 is requested. We will not have a photographer onsite. Please bring your camera and we will have volunteers onsite to assist taking photographs. All pets must be in a carrier or on a leash. 

Dec. 4. Winter Walk 25th AnniversaryWinter Walk lights up the early December night once more with stunning storefront displays, roaming carolers, Mr. & Mrs. Claus, street performers, and a magical fireworks display from the Hudson River. 5:30-9pm

Dec. 5. Beekman Fire Company Cookies with Santa Event. Come down to the firehouse for SANTA, Santa's mailbox, last minute holiday shopping, a 50/50 raffle and the annual kids art corner! 

Dec. 5. Breakfast with Santa. Join family and friends this Christmas season to have breakfast, sit with Santa for pictures, and do Christmas Crafts. Please bring an unwrapped toy for our Toy Drive! 

Dec. 5. Annual Holiday Open House. Santa and Randolph the Reingoat will be back for you and your family to take pictures with. A $5 donation for photos and a donation of canned goods that will go to the Fishkill Food Pantry would be greatly appreciated. Children’s crafts, mulled cider and nibbles in the farmhouse, and hot chocolate and s'mores outdoors.

Dec. 5. Santa Cares Events Sensory Friendly Event Galleria at Crystal Run. Sensory-friendly event where children and families with special needs can visit Santa in a controlled and intimate environment with low lighting and no music. See website for pricing details. 

Dec. 5. Welcome Santa Party. Join us in welcoming Santa to Newburgh Mall! First... Live music, singing, dancing with Conroy Warren. After the live show... kids are led outside to greet Santa as he arrives on a Firetruck, courtesy of Winona Lake Engine Co., #2. After Santa arrives... Face painting and fun with Ms. Bubbles and Pals. 

Dec. 6. Pet Photo Nights at Poughkeepsie Galleria. Bring your pet for an adorable photo with Santa. See website for pricing details. 

Dec. 11. 3rd Annual Breakfast with Santa. Join us for a sit-down Breakfast with Santa! Kids crafts, Silent Auction and photos with Santa! Parents Christmas Auction, 50/50 Raffle, & Annual Bicycle Giveaway. Advanced tickets are recommended. See website for pricing.

Dec. 11. Pictures With SantaSanta will be coming to the East Fishkill Community Center on December 11 from 1-4 to take pictures with your furry friends. We will also be having our raffles and silent auction. 

Dec 11. SANTA PAWS ~ Pet photos with Santa. All pets and children are welcome to have their photos taken with Santa for just a $5 requested donation! Each photo will be printed on-site. The photos will also be posted on this page the week after the event. There will also be a raffle table of goodies and Xmas gift ideas.

Dec 11. Socially Distant Santa and Mrs. Claus. Get ready to bundle up and share your wish lists! Our annual visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus is ON! To keep all involved as safe as possible, families will visit outside under a tent, one at time, while Santa and Mrs. Claus stay inside and chat through an open window. Registration for 10-minute windows is highly recommended. 

Dec 12. BRUNCH WITH SANTA! Choice of pancakes or (blueberry or chocolate chip) muffin, plus fruit cup and bottle of water (please note, food may not be allergy-friendly). $5 per child, by Dec. 1st. 

Dec. 12. Brunch with Santa. Santa is coming to La Cucina Rosalie at Vineyard Commons, Highland, NY. A holiday meet & greet with Santa. Reservations strongly suggested.

Dec. 18 & 19. Santa's Coming to FurEver Friends! Come join them for some fun and festivities. There will be photos, raffles, and more all at FurEver Friends Shop.

Dec. 19. Brunch with Santa. All you can eat brunch buffet. Special appearance by Santa Claus. From 12pm -2pm. Reservations required. 

Dec. 19. Brunch with SantaBrunch with Santa at Brothers BBQ will be a magical memory filled with premium food and photos with Santa. Fun for the whole family!!
