Sometimes we want a slow relaxing stretch, and sometimes we want something little more challenging. Pyramid Pose definitely falls into the latter category. Although people of all levels of yoga experience will benefit from this stretch, it speaks more to those with a little more flexibility and balance.
When trying this pose for the first time, bend your front leg a bit. Gradually work into straightening the leg if that does not stress your back. Allow your head to hang freely, and reach your chest away from your pelvis. Breathe deeply throughout. If you feel this stretch is too intense, bend your back leg into a kneeling position, and come into Half-Pyramid Pose.
