Sunflowers just say summer. Flowers brighten up our homes and our mood. We have put together a list of places you can go to pick some for yourself.

Dutchess County

Barton Orchards

The Sunflower Festival offers something for everyone! Take a hayride up to a breathtaking five-acre rolling field with about 100,000 sunflowers in various sizes and colors. Take your time cutting sunflowers and taking pictures in one of the most photographed spots in the Hudson Valley. Enjoy live music, wine, and beer served next to the field, entertainment, and a variety of craft vendors. 

Brittany Hollow Farm
Albany Post Rd., Rhinebeck; 845-417-7099
They have 3 acres of flowers that you can pick. Flowers include sunflowers, snapdragons, zinnias and more. Buy your bucket for $25 cash (exact amount) or check only. If you bring your bucket back, refills are only $20. Hours are 7am-7pm.   

Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils
235 Sleight-Plass Rd, Pleasant Valley; (845) 489-8368
Enjoy the 8th Annual Sunflower Cutting. There will be over 40 acres available for the public to walk and enjoy. Admission is free except on evenings featuring live music. There will be a $5.00 per CAR admission fee after 5pm ONLY on evenings with live music. EXPECTED Opening Date (Subject to Change):    Friday, Aug. 1st. Closing Date: The farm’s last day open will be Sunday Aug. 31st. We may not necessarily have Sunflowers to cut through then. However, we will have live music, food and beverages from 5:30-Sunset, Thursdays- Sundays through August 31st. Check their social media pages for updates. 

Orange County

Sunflower Valley Farm

Admission to the farm includes 3 pick your own sunflowers. There is also face painting for the kids, a petting farm, hay bale characters, and the sunflower fields are a maze with plenty of photo-ops. Fri-Sun 10am to 5pm, opening day is still to be decided. 

Ulster County

Kelders Farm
5755 US Rte. 209, Kerhonkson; 845-626-7137
Each year Kelders Farm holds its Sunflower Extravaganza. This year it will be held from August 9 through September 1, daily except Tuesday & Wednesday 10am-6pm. Enjoy a 6-acre majestic sunflower field with thousands of sunflowers in bloom! There are many different varieties and colors, every flower is unique! Get your tickets and come enjoy all the farm has to offer. There are also other activities including the jumping pillow, combine slides, petting farm animals, mini-golf, spider web, pipe slides, and more!! You can also pick fruit and vegetables, and the Ice Cream Barn will be open for ice cream, food, and drinks as well! 

Columbia County

Germantown Farms
208 Church Ave., Germantown; 347-882-0538
You can come here and pick wildflowers to your heart's content. 100% of the u-pick proceeds go to a local Germantown non-profit of your choice. Gardens open from July through September. Enjoy an amazing butterfly immersion experience. They have herbs & veggies that you can pick yourself. No pesticides are used on this farm. Relax and frolic in the hayfields.
