Hudson Valley Parent Social and Support Groups



Free meetups for moms, dads, grandparents.

The Hudson Valley is filled with groups for the new mom to socialize, meet other like-minded parents, and have their kids meet new and perhaps lasting friends.  Look for your area, and try one out.  If your group is not mentioned here, please write us at editor@excitingread.com and let us know.

Dutchess County Stroller Strides. (Poughkeepsie) Meet other moms, be a positive role model for your child.  Join Stroller Strides -- it's not just a stroll through the park. Our 60-minute classes are a complete body workout. We combine powerwalking, body-toning using exercise tubing (provided), abs work and stretching.

Forever Friends. (Stormville) With five to six events each day to choose from Monday-Sunday, every week and much more. We have events in Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia, Rockland, Westchester, Orange Counties and Parts of CT and NYC. Forever Friends is a group for all ages - kids' ages range from one month-teenagers.


Lesbian Moms and Their Little Munchkins. (
Newburgh) This is a group for Lesbian moms and their children in the Newburgh or surrounding areas.  Meet other  lesbian moms and their children. We do plan playdates, go to lunch, etc.


Little Noggins of Goshen.
(Goshen) This group is for moms who are interested in making new friends for themselves and their young children. We meet for playdates and various other events throughout Orange County. Ours is a smaller group so that we all really get to know one another and our children feel comfortable. We welcome all who are ready to have fun.


Moms and More!
(Hopewell Junction) We are a positive and dynamic group of moms focused on spending quality time with our children and with each of our families! We are laid-back, upbeat and dedicated to bringing joy to the lives of others as we consistently create value in our lives.

Moms Club of Monroe. (Chester) created by moms to offer support, as well as fun and enriching activities, to stay-at-home moms and their children and families in southern Orange County NY - Greenwood Lake, Chester, Blooming Grove, Central Valley, Harriman & Monroe. We have playgroups, Moms Night Out, new member meet and greets, park days in the summer, indoor play spaces in the winter.


New Baby New Paltz.
(New Paltz) Saturday Moms Meeting, 11:00am at New Baby New Paltz in New Paltz. Meet other mothers and their babies, (all ages). Special guests, refreshments, free breastfeeding help. It's okay if you're late.


Positive Playdates.
(Hopewell Junction) Positive Play dates is a unique playgroup designed to bring together children and families who have a common goal in mind –to support each other as moms, to enrich their own lives and those of their children through fun, exciting and educational play dates and philanthropic events. Having fun and forming lasting friendships are a top priority, that's why we believe in offering consistent regular play dates. 

Sugar Bears Meet up. (Highland Mills) This group is for full-time working moms, part-time working moms, and stay-at-home moms. Do you have at least one child under the age of five? Do you want your infant or toddler to socialize more? Do you want to get out of the house and meet other moms and kids? Come join us for friendship and fun. When requesting membership into the group please be sure to upload a current photo and complete the profile questionnaire. 



Waddle n Swaddle: Mama’s Group with Breastfeeding Support.  (Rhinebeck and Poughkeepsie) Free breastfeeding support group for breastfeeding and expectant moms. Bring your baby to share and learn in a friendly supportive atmosphere. Discussions are facilitated by Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and cover a full range of topics. Drop-in support group, rsvp not necessary.


Waddle n Swaddle: New Mother's Adjustment Support Group. (Poughkeepsie)  Join us and see how nurturing and validating it can be when mothers gather together in an environment where they feel free to discuss the more difficult feelings - loss, anxiety, depression, worry, sadness, confusion and fear - that can arise after having a baby. Onsite childcare may be available for pre-registered crawlers and up. $100 for 8 sessions, $80 for members. Pre-registration is recommended.
