The weather may not feel like the Fall we are used to, but that doesn't mean we can't still do all of the Fall things! We are still decorating and crafting with our favorite colors of the season, and baking all of our favorite Fall treats! It feels a little strange baking apples with our air conditioner on, but we are not letting this heat deter our favorite seasonal activities.
This quick and easy project was inspired by a left over wine cork that was floating around my kitchen. I knew I wanted to do something with it besides dumping in the trash. My kids decided we could paint with it! Since we are due for a new leaf project I thought I could marry the two ideas.
Here is what you need:
- Washable paints (use fall colors if you'd like)
- Variety of leaves (not the crunchy kind, they won't lay flat)
You want to be sure the cork is dry before using. It also helps to use a little tape to hold the leaf in place for little ones. Otherwise it will move around and can be frustrating.
Simply dip the cork and dot the borders of the leaves. This will highlight the edges of the leaf and mark the shape.
That's it! Super simple. Super easy. Take the paints outside for less mess to clean up and enjoy the extended sunny days! Wipe the paint from the cork and use again for another painting project. These will be great for snowy pics!
