Jeepers creepers! Halloween can be way too scary for some little ones. Here are some frighteningly fun Halloween events that won't scare the pants off your little ghost or goblin.

Oct 8: Kids Day at the Haunted Mansion. A toned-down kid-friendly day at the haunted mansion. Pumpkin painting, magic shows, arts and crafts, trick or treating and more. 12-3pm. Kevin McCurdy’s Haunted Mansion. 85 Sheafe Rd, Wappingers Falls.

Oct 13: Children’s Day! Presented by Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses. "A Tiny Taste of Terror." On Children's Day, the park tones down its scare level, offering a daylight hayride with a friendly storyteller telling scary tales. 11:30am-3pm. Oct 13: No Scare Halloween. Wear your favorite costume, enjoy games, crafts, scavenger hunt, costume parade and goodies. Saturday and Sunday, 11am-4pm. Museum Village. 1010 Rt. 17M, Monroe. 845-782-8248.



Oct 14: 5th Annual Halloween Festival. Parade begins at 12pm followed by farmers market, bounce houses, crafts, costume contest, petting zoo, trick or treating and free pumpkins. 12pm. Mesier Park. E. Main St, Wappingers Falls.

Oct 14: Fall Harvest Festival. Join us for a great day of family fun in the park. Rain Date 10/21. Live bands, art show and sale, children’s show, Halloween costume parade at 3:15pm. 12-4pm. Freedom Park. 212 Skidmore Rd, Lagrange. 845-452-1972.

Oct 14: Halloween Craft Fair and Flea Market. A “Spooktacular” Halloween fair with over 20 vendors including handmade and direct sales. Oct 20: Grace Pumpkin Parade. Benefit to help end bullying and abuse in the community during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Proceeds go to Grace Smith House, Inc. Home shouldn’t be a scary place. 11am-3pm. Pulaski Park. 162 Washington St, Poughkeepsie. 845-452-7155.

Oct 20: Witchingtonville 2018. Fun-filled afternoon for the whole family. Costume parade for all ages, games, trunk or treat, DJ, hayrides, barrel slide, escape room, live music and more! 2-8pm. Vern Allen Park. Rt.94 and Ahern Blvd, Washingtonville.


Oct 21: Halloween on the Farm. Fundraiser to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Come pet and feed the farm animals, face painting, hay rides and a bake sale. Costumes are encouraged. 2pm. Michael’s Farm. 44 Kate Yaeger Rd, Saugerties.

Oct 26: Flicks: Young Frankenstein (Rated:PG). Oct 31: Halloween Story Time Trick or Treat. Come in costume for stories and trick or treats! All ages. No registration. 75 Main St, Millerton.

Oct 31: Trick or Treating and Costume Contest. Trick or treat to participating stores beginning at 5pm. Immideatly following at 6:30 MVP Health Care will host a costume contest at center court with healthy snacks and Halloween music. Must register for contest.
