The City of Newburgh is in the fast-growing county, Orange County, New York. Located 60 miles north of New York City and 90 miles south of Albany, the city lies along the Hudson River.

Newburgh’s downtown region is centered at the intersection of Grand,  Montgomery and Liberty streets, all close to the Hudson River waterfront where many of restaurants and shops are found. Grand Street is rich in history and has views of Mount Beacon.

Downing Park was designed by the same team that created New York City’s Central Park. The park consists of 35 acres near in the center of Newburgh. Ice skating and sledding are popular winter activities there; summers bring concerts and festivals. Take a walk or bike ride along the Hamilton Fish Bridge for stunning views of the Hudson River and area mountains. 


Newburgh’s motorcycle mania attracts bikers and enthusiasts. The Motorcyclepedia Museum was founded by two lifelong residents and features exhibits on motorcycle use, history and craftsmanship. It has various motorcycles that can be sat on for photos. Motorcycle fans also love Orange County Choppers, located nearby. It was featured on the TV show “American Chopper.” Custom motorcycles are on display and attract bikers and fans. There site also has a cafe with craft beers and motorcycle themed burgers. 

Another attraction in the city is the historic American Revolution headquarters of George Washington where visitors can participate in the small home-turned-museum’s daily guided tours, including unique war artifacts and great views of the Hudson River.
