Family Fun on free museum day

Museum Day Live! is a nationwide annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Museums across the country open their doors for free for one day.

Museum Day Live! tickets are available for download at Smithsonian.com Visitors who present the Museum Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues for one day only. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address. 


The following local museums are participating:

The Whaling Museum & Education Center, Cold Spring Harbor, NY

This small but wonderful museum set in the Cold Spring harbor engages the community in exploring the diversity of our whaling heritage and it's impacts to enrich and inform our lives. Offers special events, birthday parties and kids programs.


Time and the Valleys Museum, Grahamsville, NY

Connecting water, people and the Catskills, this museum is a living and interactive resources that preserves the past, educates the present and ensures the uniqueness of the Rondout and Neversink watersheds for the future.


John Burroughs' Slabsides, West Park, NY

This little museum is surrounded by a beautiful 200-acre Nature Sanctuary preserves and promotes the legacy of the literary naturalist, John Burroughs. Offers education programs, magnificent hiking trails and a collection of Burroughs' excellence in nature writing achievements.
