Lego just keeps on building and building and building.
The largest Legoland Theme Park in the world,
Legoland New York, is scheduled to open in spring of 2020 in Goshen, NY and we couldn't have been more excited to get a sneak peak. At a recent first look event on the site, thousands of Lego bricks formed a waterfall showcasing the 10-foot Lego model of the entire theme park that took master builders more than 1,300 hours and 135,000 bricks to build.
Our inner child was itching to jump in and play with the thousands of Lego bricks piled on the dirt floor where Legoland, NY is beginning to break ground. We are most excited for the addition of three brand new rides that neither of the other two United States locations one in Florida and the other in California have. More than 50 rides, shows and attractions for children ages 2-12 will span over this 150-acre theme park just 60 miles North of
New York City.
Walking through the great Legoland arch will take you on a true adventure through eight themed lands. The first stop on your journey shows you what it's like to be a Lego minifigure. See how Legos go from manufacturing, into the box and right into the hands of a child on the The Great Lego Adventure ride, an exclusive to New York.
14 local theme parks in the Ultimate Guide from a roller coaster expert.
Spin, zoom and fly with knights, dragons and pirates in other lands. Master the ancient art of Spinjiitzu and defeat the Great Devourer at training camp in Lego Ninjago World. Put your master building skills to the test in Bricktopia where you can see how your tower stands up against the Earthquake Table. Play with Stepping Tones and trigger the Lego instruments in Bricktopia as well.
Favorite rides from other Legoland theme parks will also find a home at the NY location. Children can learn to fly on the Dragon Coaster, a favorite among the preschool aged crowd. Head over to the Knights' Kingdom where you'll receive a royal welcome at the Lego Castle or get your very first drivers license at Lego Driving School where you can drive along a track in Lego City. Young buccaneers will also find adventure as a pirate aboard a galleon or take a trip on the Rogue Wave Riders and battle with water spouts and hungry beasts at Pirate Shores.
When your little adventurers need a break from the rides and thrills, take a stroll through Miniland to see familiar landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Times Square filled with bustling streets and animated figures. Or head over to Heartlake City to meet the Lego Friends, take a leisurely balloon ride over the falls and sample the delicious Granny's Apple Fries, a signature treat invented right at Legoland! Granny Smith apples dusted in cinnamon sugar and served with vanilla cream dipping sauce...delicious!
In addition to each of the adventures waiting for you throughout the park, Legoland NY will feature another experience in itself, The LEGOLAND Hotel. Here you'll find 250 themed rooms, a restaurant with kid-sized buffet, Castle play area and entertainment every night.
So who's marking their calendars for 2020? I know we are!
