Eric Knapp is a lifelong resident of Dutchess County. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lasell College in May of 2005 and graduated from New England School of Law in 2008. He began his career as an attorney with the Law Offices of Gilbert J. West Sr. Esq where he specialized in representing clients in family court on a variety of matters including custody, neglect and support proceedings. Eric joined the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office in 2012 as an assistant Public Defender. He was promoted to Senior Assistant Public Defender in 2014 and in 2015 he was promoted to Family Court Bureau Chief. Eric has dedicated his career to providing client centered representation to individuals in the Hudson Valley who are unable to retain an attorney.
