Since August is National Golf Month, it seems fitting to take this opportunity to explore local kid-friendly places to golf. Not ready for the PGA? That's okay we've listed our favorite places to play mini golf too!
1. Beekman Country Club, Hopewell Junction
This public 27-hole golf course is perfect for the whole family. They offer Family Golf programs as well as Junior Golf including lessons for this spring!
2. Vassar Golf Course, Poughkeepsie
Located on the campus of Vassar College, this public 9-hole golf course welcomes golfers of all levels, including families and juniors. Check out their Junior Golf Academy where they provide lessons for kids on the basics of golf.
3. Tarry Brae, Fallsburg
This is 18-hole golf course is surrounded by lakes, streams, and beautiful trees as you make your way through the game. Junior clinics, lessons, and camps are offered daily and posted on their website.
4. Apple Greens Golf Course, Highland
This 27-hole championship golf course with magnificent views of the Mohonk Tower serves golfers of all ages and experience levels. This golf course gives parents the chance to golf either 9 or 18 holes with their children under 16.
5. West Hills Country Club, Middletown
This club features an 18-hole championship golf course as well as a 9-hole par 3 golf course. There are plenty of ways that our children can get involved including golf camps and junior golf competitions.
6. 94 Pitch and Putt, Washingtonville
Enjoy a family game of mini-golf that your kids will love. Make sure you grab some Hershey’s ice cream after playing a round!
7. DC Sports, Wappingers Falls
What used to be Fun Central is now the new and very improved DC Sports! Your entire family will love playing a round of golf on the remodeled course. Don’t forget to check out the bumper boats and sand volleyball.
8. The Castle Fun Center, Chester
This amusement center has two exciting outdoor 18-hole miniature golf courses called the Dragon Slayer and the Knight’s Revenge. Young children will be able to play these golf courses while adults will even find it to be a challenge.
9. Glenville Mini Sportplex, Glenville
Play on this 18-hole mini-golf course in the shade on a hot day or at night when it is all nice and lit up. Show your skills to your family on these challenging and non-challenging holes.
10. Overlook Golf and Recreational Center, Poughkeepsie
Enjoy a game of mini-golf at this 18-hole course as you play by waterfalls and ponds. A gazebo is placed on the course for any parents or grandparents who want to watch their children have fun playing the rounds.
