Novice ice skaters
across the generations are invited to learn the basics of figure skating for
free during a ‘Try Skating for Free Class’ in January. Two sessions are available;
one on January 18, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the McCann Ice Arena in Poughkeepsie and
another on January 25, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Ice Time Sports Complex, in Newburgh.
During the sessions professional instructors will teach each
participant figure skating basics in a fun environment. Immediately following each free class at both locations,
participants will be invited to stay for public skate, including a free skate
rental with a paid admission.
The free learn-to-skate
programs recognize National Skating Month, which seeks to increase awareness
and participation in the U.S. Figure Skating programs and Learn to Skate USA by
offering a day of skating from professionally trained instructors across the
United States.
This January, discover the magic of skating.
