With great pride, we at HV Parent announce that Hudson Valley's Ginny Leake was one of the recipients of The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN) Community Leadership Award.
This award is only given out annually to no more than fifty (50) individuals who improve the lives of individuals within their communities by providing or enhancing opportunities to engage in sports, physical activities, fitness, or nutrition-related programs. Leake, who is a certified children's fitness specialist, brought her Hop-N-Healthy program to Neighborhood Daycare Services in Wappingers Falls. And it was NDS Director, Cindy Latino, who nominated her for this prestigious award. "Ginny is a true advocate for choosing to make 30 minutes of exercise per day a lifestyle choice," Latino writes "She conducts free classes throughout the community so that parents can see how young children derive pleasure from participating in structural physical activity and the potential of developing lifelong healthy habits."
