Among the many holiday traditions this time of year; cutting down the Christmas tree, visiting Santa Claus and baking cookies, visiting Christmas light displays is often at the top of the list. There is something about displays of twinkling and magical dancing lights that brighten up the dark winter nights and put kids of all ages into the Christmas spirit. 

So bundle up the family, jump in the car and don't forget the Christmas carols! Here are our favorite Hudson Valley Christmas light displays.

Dutchess County:

Kevin McCurdy's Holiday Spirit Festival
38 Sheafe Rd., Wappingers Falls

Admission: Adults, $12 and children 11 and under, $10
This festival offers an enchanted forest of lights, a light show spectacular and a winter wonderland packed with fun for everyone!

ERDAJT'S Holiday Light Display
8 Patrick Dr., Lagrangeville
Come drive by and see all the holiday lights and listen to the holiday music that this family offers to the community! Donations collected for various charities throughout the season.

Quaker Hill Dr., Hyde Park
Drive by and see the beautiful Christmas Light display set to music and take a photo with Olaf! Donations collected nightly for the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie. Sunday through Thursday 5-10pm and Friday and Saturday 5-11pm.

6 Field Ct., Poughkeepsie
Stop by and check out the show each night until New Year's Eve. A beautiful light and music display.

47 Fairfax Rd., Fishkill
Please come on out and enjoy our holiday light show. There will be lots of lights, music and candy canes handed out. Donations go to Hopes and Heroes Pediatric Oncology Unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Runs every night until January 6th.

Ulster County:

A Frosty Fest
778 Broadway, Ulster Park
Admission Prices: Adults-$15.95, Children under 12-$12.95
A Frosty Fest offers holiday light displays and holiday and Christmas walk throughs that are filled with fun for the whole family!

Sussin Family Christmas Light Show
123 Patch Rd., Saugerties
A walk-through display for all ages. Nightly from 5-10pm, weather permitting.

Watt Christmas Wonderland
310 Scotchtown Rd., Goshen
Admission: A requested $5.00 donation per vehicle
8' height restriction on all vehicles, drive through the trail and see all the lights and Christmas decorations it has to offer!

Christmas On Colden Hill
125 Colden Hill Rd., Newburgh
Come see the animated light and music displays!

Orange County Arboretum, Thomas Bull Memorial Park
Rte. 416, Montgomery
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting November 27th through December 17th and daily from December 22nd-31st from 5-8pm. ***Closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day***
Free Admission. The Arboretum is all decked out for Christmas. Enjoy beautiful, garden themed light features in the forms of flowers, animals and insects.

Bruschi Christmas:

5 Madre DeCristo Rd., Walkill
With over 15,000 lights meticulously set to music that is sure to bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Starting the day after Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. Open 5-10pm.

Christmas on the Mountain
64 Fawn Hill Rd., Tuxedo
Over 14,000 Christmas lights and over 1 mile of extension cords. Tune into 98.1 for many of your favorite Christmas classics mixed with some favorite Disney tunes! Mon-Thurs 5-10pm, open weekends until 10:30pm.
