Among the many holiday traditions this time of year; cutting down the Christmas tree, visiting Santa Claus and baking cookies, visiting Christmas light displays is often at the top of the list. There is something about displays of twinkling and magical dancing lights that brighten up the dark winter nights and put kids of all ages into the Christmas spirit. 

So bundle up the family, jump in the car and don't forget the Christmas carols! Here are our favorite Hudson Valley Christmas light displays. 

Dutchess County

Kevin McCurdy's Holiday Spirit Festival
38 Sheafe Rd., Wappingers Falls

Admission: Adults, Adults 16.95 and children 11 and under, 13.95. Online fee and NYS sales Tax for all tickets, under 2 free. Tickets available online only. Fridays 6pm-9pm, Saturdays 4:30-9pm, Sundays 4:30-8:30pm. “Winter Wonderland Walk” will take guests on a magical Holiday journey through lights, animated displays, interactive character visits, music, and much much more! Grand opening November 26. Runs through December 26. Closed December 24 & 25.

ERDAJT'S Holiday Light Display
8 Patrick Dr., Lagrangeville
Come drive by and see all the holiday lights and listen to the holiday music that this family offers to the community! Donations collected for various charities throughout the season. Display begins Friday, November 26. Runs through December 25.

47 Fairfax Rd., Fishkill
Come see one of the best holiday displays in New York. Tune to FM 89.9 to hear over 30 Holiday Songs programmed using WOW Lights. 500 Channels. Watch our home's 100,000 lights pulsate, spin and strobe all to benefit our family's Breast Cancer Foundation. Runs through January 6, 2021.

Town of Hyde Park
The Town of Hyde Park, Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, Hyde Park Farmer's Market, Hyde Park Fire Department, Hyde Park Visual Environment, and Friends of Hyde Park are excited to bring back Merry & Bright for its second year. December 5-19.

6 Field Ct., Poughkeepsie
Stop by and check out the show each night until New Year's Eve. Lights go up the day after Thanksgiving. A beautiful light and music display. 5-11pm. Runs through New Year's Eve.

6636 Route 9, Rhinebeck
Experience The Wonderland of Lights located at The Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York. This no-contact drive-through mile-long path of dazzling, festive lights and holiday displays will make lasting memories for the whole family. Admission is priced per vehicle. Vehicle must not surpass legal seating limit. November 25 - December 25.

Ulster County

778 Broadway, Ulster Park
Admission Prices: Adults-$15.95 + fee, Children under 12-$12.95 + fee
A Frosty Fest offers holiday light displays and holiday and Christmas walk throughs that are filled with fun for the whole family! Runs through December 27.

143 Patura Road, Modena
Cross’ Christmas light Spectacular is truly magical. Lights go on beginning November 26 and run through December 26. Feel free to drive by and tune into 92.5 and enjoy the show!! On each weekend every Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be special guests in the driveway to greet people as they watch the light show.

Orange County

Watt Christmas Wonderland
310 Scotchtown Rd., Goshen
Admission: A requested $5.00 donation per vehicle
8' height restriction on all vehicles, drive through the trail and see all the lights and Christmas decorations it has to offer! Runs through December 27.

Orange County Arboretum, Thomas Bull Memorial Park
Rte. 416, Montgomery
Free Admission. The Arboretum is all decked out for Christmas. Enjoy beautiful, garden themed light features in the forms of flowers, animals and insects. Runs through December 26. Closed December 24 & 25.

Bruschi Christmas

5 Madre DeCristo Rd., Walkill
With over 15,000 lights meticulously set to music that is sure to bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Starting the day after Thanksgiving to December 31. Open 5-11pm.

Vincent's Fabulous Christmas Light Display
22 Spanktown Rd., Warwick
This year's display is the biggest and best ever. Lights will be on daily 4-9:30pm. Please wear masks and social distance.

Sullivan County

200 Hurd Rd., Bethel
From the week of Thanksgiving until just after New Year’s Day, experience the Bethel Woods grounds from the comfort of your car: just turn off your headlights and follow the magical glow. There is nothing else quite like this holiday light event in the area. All new themed areas and added displays to expand on existing areas you know and love.
