Uh-oh. Junior’s birthday is coming up and you have no idea where you’ll find the time to start planning it. Sending out invitations, organizing activities, shopping for food, drinks, favors and decorations – not only does it require a big chunk of your time, it can also take a chunk out of your wallet. Luckily, there’s an easier way.
Many party venues throughout the Hudson Valley provide everything from set up to clean up, and some even supply invitations. These facilities specialize in games, hands-on crafts, educational activities and some even provide food. Whether your child is one or eleven, there’s a party place for you.
“With dual-income families, no one has time. After you clean, get food, your time, generally [the cost of having the party at a venue] is about the same,” says Tanya Ehrlich, co-owner with Michelle Violetto of the
Little Scoops franchise company based in Blauvelt.
Looking for a great party place?
Tori Labrenz agrees. Two years ago, she had her twins Max and Lucas’ birthday party at Little Scoops. The franchise hosts parties for ages 2-12 in a 1950s-themed ice cream parlor complete with kid-sized counter and 18-inch bar stools. The party includes games and activities, pizza, drinks, and ice cream sundaes, which the children create themselves.
“It might sound like a lot to have a party out,” says Labrenz. “But I didn’t have to buy anything extra. It adds up when you have it at home.
“It is less aggravation,” adds Labrenz. “You don’t have to worry about kids messing up your house.”
