Goshen: the seat of Orange County Government plus wonderful scenic adventures

The
Town of Goshen is located just 60 miles north and slightly west of New York
City. A great family-friendly place, the town hosts several annual festivals
including the Good Time Trotter’s Ralley, a St. Patrick’s Day Parade,
spectacular holiday light displays and the Great American Weekend. The Harness
Racing Track gives visitors the chance to watch horse racing up close. and the adjacent Harness
Museum and Hall of Fame provides information about the sport of racing. For more history,
the Goshen Town Hall is the birthplace of the Webster’s Dictionary.
Goshen
also is a great place to be active. The town offers art walks, parks and a
farmer’s market, plus its 11.5-mile Heritage Trail connects Goshen and Monroe. The
trail is a popular spot for bikes, scooters, strollers, rollerblades and
walking and includes plenty of benches to rest along the way.

If you prefer to stay inside, Cornerstone Theatre offers live shows, with the
opportunity for residents to audition to be in the performances.
Goshen has attracted Legoland New York. Slated
to be the largest Lego park to date, it sits on 150 acres plus has another 150
acres of the surrounding woodland. The park will combine the popular rides and
attractions from both the Florida and California Legoland Parks into one new
theme park. Eight different themed lands will be constructed to explore and a
resort with 250 guest rooms will operate onsite year-round.
