Farm-fresh meals your entire family will love

Farm-fresh meals your entire family will love

The farm-to-table movement is a great way for you to ensure that your family is chowing down on good-for-you grub. It’s also a good way to support local farmers who are working hard to grow humane meat and organic produce.

Here are some of our favorite, local family-friendly farm-to-table restaurants:

Harvest Grill at Pennings Farm
161 South Rte. 94, Warwick. 845-986-1059
Found on the grounds of Pennings Farm in Warwick, this restaurant is a great place to go after a busy day of apple picking. Their menu includes appetizers, burgers, salads and sandwiches, as well as a children’s menu, all made with locally sourced ingredients. The pub even makes their own hard cider.

Farm to Table Bistro
1083 Rte. 9, Fishkill. 845-297-1111
When Farm to Table Bistro says their food is fresh, they mean it. They source a great deal of produce from Taliaferro’s Farm and cheese from Sprout Creek Farm. They serve everything from garlic-laden escargot to mustard-topped bratwurst. An HVParent favorite is the Burrata Heirloom Salad.

Aroma Thyme Bistro
165 Canal St., Ellenville. 845-647-3000
Did you know: Aroma Thyme Bistro was the very first Hudson Valley restaurant to be Green Certified? you know! Aroma Thyme Bistro's menu is filled with organic produce, sustainable seafood, and grass-fed meats. The bistro was also voted as having the Best Vegetarian options.

The Garden Café
6 Old Forge Rd., Woodstock. 845-679-3600
VEGANS REJOICE! The Garden Café is everything a vegan (or really any HV resident) could wish for.  The Café offers fresh pressed juices, salads, and sandwiches. The Garden Café also boasts an all-organic, cruelty-free and GMO-free menu. While you’re there, grab a table on the posh patio and sip on a pot of hot tea while enjoying a bite of their delicious Mediterranean Chickpea Wrap.
