How one child care center is planning for safe summer fun

This year Country Grove Children’s Center in Poughkeepsie announced that they are offering a summer program which will include weekly themes.

Members of our staff spoke to the Country Grove team about what steps they are taking to keep their kids healthy. We know this is a major concern of families.

They say they have carefully adapted their program to exceed CDC guidelines.

First and foremost, Denise and Monica, co-directors, say that Country Grove is proud to be clean freaks! They have always been conscientious about maintaining a healthy facility, regardless of what illnesses may be going around.

Now with the Covid-19 epidemic, they have instituted the following steps:
  1. At the entrance to the school, they do health checks on both children and staff before they enter the building.
  2. The facility is disinfected nightly, as are the toys.
  3. They are maintaining small class sizes, with no more than 10 in a classroom with staff.
They, like other centers, have remained open throughout the pandemic. the Country Grove Children's Center team says that they remain dedicated to helping kids through this crazy time. As distance learning is instituted, their staff is ready & willing to help with schoolwork as well.
