Sometimes you can tell scoliosis is present just by observing an individual standing. You may see shoulder height differences, head tilt, etc. These are key indicators that show the presence of scoliosis. Other times scoliosis may not be obvious to the naked eye. There may be pain, discomfort and an overall difficulty in using one’s body when scoliosis is present, but again, maybe not. It usually depends on how much twisting and deviation there is and how well someone can compensate.
