Delicious caramel apples you and the kids can make!

Yummy gooey candied apples made from Hudson Valley apples!

      Caramel apples are a wonderful fall treat, but often you have to go to fall festivals to enjoy one! Now you can bring that deliciousness home! Here’s a quick how-to for making your own caramel apples!

      1. Purchase half a peck of your favorite type of apple from your local farm

      2. Purchase your favorite brand of caramels (you’ll need enough to cover all apples)

      3. Remove the apple stems and insert in its place a candy stick or Popsicle stick

      4. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper

      5. Have your little ones unwrap the caramels and place them into a large bowl

      6. Add a splash of milk once all caramels are in the bowl

      7. Microwave the caramels for one to two minutes until the caramels and milk have blended

      8. Let your caramel mixture stand for one minute

      9. Dip each apple in the caramel mixture to coat and place on your cookie sheet

      10. Allow apples to cool in the refrigerator for several minutes.
