Create laminated name tags that can be attached to towels, water jugs and backpacks – even though your child may not be able to read, they can probably recognize their name and this can be a fun way to personalize your child’s items as well.
Affordable camp options
- Make sure your child can tie their shoes or think about using sneakers that may not require tying.
- Explain to your child that if they have any problems to talk to their counselor and tell your child how they can identify a counselor (specific colored shirt or other identification).
Mom, camp sucks!
- Review the contents of the child’s backpack with them and show them which compartment has water, snack, sun block or other items.
- Inform the camp and individual counselor if your child has any special needs.
