Bird Dog is one of my favorite ab moves because it also strengthens the whole back body and is perfect for pregnant women or anyone who is unable to lie on her back to exercise. It's also an ideal move for anyone who wishes to learn to stabilize torso and improve balance.

Don't feel like you have to do the full exercise. We often do just the first move in class because it is so excellent for core strength and stabilization. If you have any wrist issues, you can come down onto the forearms for this move.

Bird Dog is an exercise with many benefits:
  • strengthens core
  • strengthens back
  • tones butt and hamstrings
  • improves balance
  • develops focus
  • cultivates mindful breathing
