For the past 15 years, Bethel Woods
Center for the Arts has committed to hosting a selection of culturally-rich
performances, popular artists, and community and educational programming at the
800-acre campus in the Sullivan Catskills of Upstate New York. This year,
amidst an unprecedented global pandemic, things are a little different. With
that said, we remain connected at home through virtual programming that we hope
will bring a bit of comfort to our community right now. Below we have outlined
a few different programs that we hope you and your families will take part in.
Be sure to follow along and show us what you’ve made by tagging #BWatHome!
In partnership with Sullivan
Renaissance, Bethel Woods has launched Growing Hope; an initiative that
provides flower-growing kits and art supplies to school students who are
presently at home due to the pandemic. The community will be invited later in
the season to plant a peace garden at the historic Woodstock festival site
later in the year.
The goal of this project is to strengthen the personal and
communal connections that have been weakened by social isolation in order to
retain creativity, positivity, and productivity. Kits are available at The Museum at
Bethel Woods (200 Hurd Rd, Bethel, NY 12720), Mondays-Fridays from 10am-4pm.
Vehicles can drive into the circle for a contact-free pickup.
You can find classes that include sing alongs,
tools on how to build out ideas using mind maps, mindfulness exercises and
more, all led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artists as part of our #FeelGoodFriday series.
Last but not least, we bring Bethel Woods home
to YOU through this
free, new, and expressive coloring book. Re-imagine the
grounds as you explore some of our favorite parts of the historic
site!
