Picking your own fruit is one of the many treasures of summer family memories. Strawberries which typically kick off the season will start late May to early June and only stay around for a few short weeks. Other berries for picking throughout the summer include blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. Scroll down to find a favorite farm near you.

Dutchess County

Maples Farm & Garden Center Local produce, homemade fudge and baked goods, country crafts, flowers and gifts. Pumpkin picking, hayrides, barnyard animals, hay maze, haunted barn and country fair midway in October. Open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. 749 Route 17M, Middletown, 10940. 845-344-0330.

Pine Hill Farm You-pick raspberries and pumpkins. Sweet corn, tomatoes, flowers, plants, eggplant, string beans and more. Special heirloom tomatoes and white Hungarian peppers. Open 10am-6pm daily through October. 3298 Route 94, Chester.

Slate Hill Orchards You-pick apples, Concord grapes, pumpkins and vegetables. All fruits and veggies are pesticide free. Open 7am-6pm. Monday.-Friday.; 8am-6pm. Saturday-Sunday.

Wright Family Farm Farm stand features seasonal produce, fresh backed goodies and cookies, as well as hot dogs and snacks. Open 4-7pm. Friday and noon-7pm. 325 Kings Highway, Warwick.
