Before you sign up your preschooler for a summer program here is what you need to know first:
1. Is your preschooler potty trained? Most facilities will not accept preschoolers who are not in traditional underwear.
2. Are they interested in the topic? Facilities around the Hudson Valley offer everything from nature courses to piano classes, but it’s best to take direction from your child’s own interests when picking a preschool summer program.
3. Is your preschooler comfortable being away from Mom and Dad? If your children have never spent a full day away from you, you’ll need to do some mental preparation beforehand. Talk to them about what the day will be like, take a tour of the facility and introduce them to their new teacher or coach.
