We've compiled a list of local Memorial Day parades and ceremonies!

memorial day events

Memorial Day is the day that America celebrates in honor of our soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice, our troops who have lost their family and friends and our freedoms that have come of those sacrifices; our capacity to help others in need; and our thankfulness for the people who fight for us. Happy Memorial Day weekend. Salute!

Orange County

18th Century Graveside Ceremony. May 27th. Soldiers perform a graveside mourning ceremony in honor of all America's veterans. Free admission. 1:30-3pm. New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site, 374 Temple Hill Rd.

Montgomery Memorial Parade. May 27th. March with us! The parade line up starts at 11am on Wallkill Avenue by the Grange Hall. Same 1-mile route as in past years. A short patriotic ceremony and free refreshments will conclude.

Walkway over the Hudson. May 26th. The Walkway is joining with Dutchess County, Ulster County and local American Legion and VFW posts to illuminate The Walkway with luminaries and hold a moving flag changing ceremony as we remember, honor and celebrate the lives lost in defense of our nation. Luminaries will line The Walkway as veterans, honor guards, elected officials, and the public make their way to the Center Overlook for a flag changing ceremony at dusk. After the flag is changing, the retired colors will be presented to a local family who lost a loved one in service to America. Immediately following the ceremony, the public is invited to remain on The Walkway for Walkway at Night. 7:30-10:15pm.

Fishkill Memorial Parade. May 27th. Parade lines up at 12pm. The parade will march down Main Street and there will be a ceremony at Veterans Memorial on  the corner of Broad and Main Streets. 845-897-4430.

Hyde Park Memorial Day Parade May 27th. Starts at Roosevelt Theater and ends at Town Hall. American Legion will conduct a memorial service immediately following the parade. Starts at 10am. 845-229-8086.
