Apple Pie Fries

The perfect portable dessert for cool fall nights

What’s more American than a nice big slice of Apple Pie? Perhaps portable Apple Pie! Your family is sure to love this quick dessert that’s perfect for cold nights gathered around the camp fire.

The Basics:

  • 1 package Pillsbury Refrigerated pie crust
  • 1.5 cups apple pie filling
  • 1 egg
  • Sparkle sugar for sprinkling
  • Caramel sauce and/or ice cream for dipping


  • Chop up the apple pie filling in a food processor
  • Unroll the pie crust and spread the filling over the crust leaving a 1/8th inch border around the edge.
  • Place the other pie crust on top and press lightly to secure.
  • Make an egg wash by mixing the egg with a splash of water
  • Brush the egg wash on top of the pie crust and sprinkle the sparkle sugar on top

  • Cut the pie crust in strips about ½ inch think and then cut those into “fry” shapes
  • Place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes
  • Serve with Caramel dipping sauce on the side
