    Hayes Day School provides an individualized multi-sensory approach to meet the unique needs of children ages 5 to 21 with multiple disabilities. We currently serve students who reside in thirteen school districts across the Hudson Valley and provide a highly structured and supportive program to address medical, behavioral, and academic needs. Our school is a 12-month program certified by the New York State Department of Education. Our staff has experience working with a wide range of abilities and tailoring activities to promote academic, social, sensory and physical growth. Our goal is to maximize independence and the quality of life for each student that we serve!

Warm and welcoming Hayes Day School

Special classes in public school was no longer able to handle my son's needs - another big transition was a bit scary , but Hayes Day School was warm nd welcoming and just felt right from the first visit and my son has had some rough spots since starting but all of the staff have made us both feel supported and reassured.

Truly Life-Changing School

My twin sons have attended the Hayes School for four and a half years. They had never liked school before, but starting here really changed their lives. The teachers, aides and therapists are very professional and caring. There is a great understanding of sensory needs. In addition, my sons are able to use computers and Smart Boards. If you are looking for a school which will individualize services for your child, this is the school!

The amazing Hayes Day School

We have been apart of the Hayes Day School family for eight years now. I am so thankful that we were able to find this place for our son. The moment we walked into the building I knew that we had found someplace special that was going to be the place to get us through our journey of Autism. The staff of teachers and therapist that we have been able to work with over the years have truly been amazing. They are the reason that he has made strides that when he was first diagnosed I was told we would never make. They help you in every way imaginable from keeping you up to date on everything at school to helping you with anything that you need at home to make life easier for you and your child. I can never say enough good things about the program and staff. I encourage anyone with a special needs child to check out Hayes Day School because there is no place better to set your child up for all the success in the world.

Special Care and Attention

When searching for schools for my daughter we visited a few recommended to us by the district. All had an institutional feel which made me uncomfortable. Someone suggested Hayes Day School and when I visited all my worries disappeared. Hayes Day School is filled with caring people who give 100% to the kids. Its comfortable, friendly and accommodating. The people are attentive to all my daughters needs and also my needs when I have concerns, questions, and suggestions when it comes to my daughter.

The Phenomenal Hayes Day School for Special Children

My daughter, who has a chromosome abnormality and just started this year at Hayes for Kindergarten. I am blown away at just how well cared for she is. They have an amazing director of education as well as special education instruction along with therapies (Occupational, Physical, Speech/Feeding, and Music). Everyone in the building gets to know each other so at any point, if needed, someone is able to help her or others. They have a beautiful and peaceful setting in Millbrook as well. Again, they have an exceptional program, staff, and ambiance that promotes supported growth and happiness!! I'm proud to say my daughter attends and hope if there are other special needs families out there that they give Hayes a chance and take a tour.

My son attends the Hayes Day School and he loves it! We are so happy to be part of the Hayes family. The program meets and exceeds all his needs. The teachers and staff are so kind and caring and really help him to work towards meeting his goals.

My daughter attends Hayes Day School. She has a team of professional and caring teachers, therapists and classroom aides who help her to reach her full potential. The staff is always helpful and willing to answer questions regarding my daughter's individual needs. I highly recommend Hayes School. It is a comfort knowing that my daughter is going to spend her school day with people who are encouraging and want her to be successful.
