With food prices going higher and higher, it makes sense to try to save at the grocery store whenever possible. Here are some tips that can help:
1. Use a list, to help you focus and avoid purchasing items that you don’t need.
2. Limit time in the store. You’ll avoid unnecessary purchases. Studies show that for every minute over a half-hour that you are in the grocery store you will spend an additional 50 cents.
3. Eat before you shop. If you shop on a full stomach, then you won’t have such a strong urge to buy extra things that you really don’t need.
4. Buy generic when possible. Most generic and brand name products contain the exact same ingredients. You may find you prefer the generic over the name brand!
