30 things to do this June

Find family-fun every day this month

Family Fun this June in the Hudson Valley, New York
My favorite things about June: last day of school celebrations, the longest day of the year, endless trips to the ice cream shop, festivals, late night bonfires and the slow return of the fireflys!

Summer is officially here half way through the month and it's time to kick off the fun. I couldn't choose just a few things to do this month so I made a calendar and got to work filling it in.

Here are your 30 things to do this month every day of the week!

June 1- Grab some ice cream for dessert at your favorite local ice cream shop, or try a new place tonight!

June 2- Visit your local library. Check hvparent.com online calendar for a number of story times and playgroups for the little ones or let the kids unwind afterschool with some quiet time at the library. Libraries are not only a great break from the heat this month they provide socialization and encourage reading.

June 3- Bring a chair and some snacks and enjoy a FREE movie (Disney’s Inside Out) under the stars in Kingston

June 4- Come and enjoy free admission, free parking, free activities and games for children plus over 50 local vendors, live music and entertainment for all ages all day at the 9th Annual Children’s Earth and Water Festival in Montgomery.

June 5- Bring the family for an interactive Touch A Truck event where kids can touch and explore their favorite big rigs. Other activities including bounce house, co train and more too!

June 6- Learn more about why parent’s love the Poughkeepsie Day School at their open house on June 6th with a tour of the 35-acre campus and meet the admissions team.

June 7- Come meet other new mamas at the Mama’s Social Circle at New Baby, New Paltz on June 7th.

June 8- Perk up your garden or make a unique gift using old but loved or found items to create some Garden Salvage Art with the Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County on June 8th in Newburgh.

June 9- Celebrate the food, music, dancing and cultural traditions of Greece starting today through Sunday in Newburgh at the Greek Festival.

June 10- Bring your teens to meet with many teen book authors featuring events and activities for teens all weekend long at Barnes and Noble for B-Fest!

June 11- Look for entertainment all down Main Street in Livingston Manor plus the famous Trout Parade filled with antique cars, floats, performance groups and more.

June 12-  Enjoy food, fun, and music down by the riverside Pete and Toshi Park for the Beacon Sloop Club Strawberry Festival.

June 13- Pack a picnic dinner and take a hike

June 14- Knock down the pins at the alley during Kids Bowl Free Night! (Must register).

June 15- Go strawberry picking! Find a local farm here. Just check hours and availability before you go.
